Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has cautioned that Angola's presence in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is not a result of luck, particularly in comparison to Ivory Coast.

Peseiro said this during his pre-match conference on Thursday ahead of Nigeria’s quarter-final clash with Angola on Friday evening.

“They [Angola] are not here by luck. They have shown a lot of capability to reach the quarter-finals,” the 63-year-old tactician said.

“Our team has scored 5 goals in 4 matches so far. We will attack with 11 and defend with 11 as well.”

Nigeria head to the game after beating Cameroon 2-0 in the round of 16.

Angola, on the other hand, defeated Namibia 3-0.

The kick-off time for the Nigeria vs Angola clash is 6 pm.
