There was a fire outbreak at SteadyFlow College of Education in Akparabong, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday evening.

According to an eyewitness, Ada Agbor, the fire started after a passerby mistakenly discarded a cigarette filter at a bush close to the perimeter fence of the school.

Facilities destroyed by the fire include lecture halls, toilets and offices.

He appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, to come to the rescue of the school.

Tangban equally thanked God as no life was lost.

“SteadyFlow College of Education Academic complex has been engulfed by wild fire today. So much has been destroyed.

“We need state and federal government agencies to come to our aid because resumption is affected by the destruction of facilities at the college,”
he said.
