Mallam Steven Yerima Ibrahim, the District Head of Kujama, who was abducted two months ago has regained freedom.

He was kidnapped alongside another person while leaving a reservation centre near Bethel School along the Kaduna-Kujama road in November 2023.

According to Daily Trust, the bandits killed the other person who was kidnapped alongside the district head a few days after their abduction and dropped his corpse at a village along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

Daily Trust gathered from sources close to the district head and the community that he was released a week ago.

The District Head himself confirmed his release when contacted on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

“I returned seven days ago, that was last week Wednesday. I thank God for that,”
he simply said without further comment.

A local vigilante from the area who preferred to remain anonymous said the district head was in good spirits and prayed for God’s protection against future reoccurrence of such an unfortunate incident.
