The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the crash, saying it involved three men and three women.
A road accident along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road on Saturday resulted in the tragic death of a tow truck driver, with four others sustaining injuries.
PUNCH Online reports that the crash occurred at about 11:40 a.m. around Ajede Junction, Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the crash, saying it involved three men and three women.
“Four persons were injured and unfortunately, one person died,” the Ogun State FRSC spokesperson, Florence Okpe, said in a statement.
Okpe disclosed that a Toyota Sienna with number plate FKJ551FE had rammed into a tow truck with the number plate, BDG733GH.
The tow driver was said to have parked the vehicle on the shoulder of the road, and he died due to the impact of the crash.
“The suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control and the Sienna car collided with the towing vehicle parked on the hard shoulder of the road, killing the driver of the towing vehicle,” Okpe said.
The statement added that the FRSC, police and other responders carried out the rescue operation.
“The injured victims were taken to Ronna Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, while the corpse was deposited at the General Hospital morgue, Ijebu-Ode,” it was stated.
The state command of the FRSC, therefore, advised motorists to obey simple traffic rules and consider other road users.
