The sale and use of fireworks in Nasarawa state during the yuletide has been banned by the Nasarawa State Police Command.

Nadada directed divisional police officers to ensure full compliance and enforcement.
“The ban becomes necessary due to the dangers associated with the it which includes being used by criminals to create tension and carryout criminal acts.
“Others are high tendency to cause bodily injuries and fire outbreaks,” he added.
The CP warned dealers and users of fireworks to desist forthwith.
He also urged parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from buying and igniting fireworks as individuals caught would be made to face the full weight of the law.
