Taraba Gov Presents N311.3bn 2024 Budget To Assembly

The breakdown of the budget shows that N65,524,088,626.72 is allocated for governance, N43, 208,278,849.29 for education, and N33,054,686,84804 is allocated for the health sector.

Gov Agbu Kefas

Gov Agbu Kefa of Taraba state has presented the sum of ₦311,388,525,661.96 to the State House of Assembly as the budget for the 2024 fiscal year.

Tagged budget of ‘Moving forward’, the 2024 estimate had governance, education, and health sectors as the majority priority sectors of the administration.

According to him, the 2024 budget would ensure the implementation of prudent financial management practices for the state to achieve sustainable growth, improved service delivery and enhance the overall well-being of the citizens.

The governor said, “Total Recurrent Expenditure is estimated at ₦111,679,595,358.59) only representing 35.9%. This is made up of a total Personnel Cost of ₦56,659,880,300.48 only, and other recurrent costs of ₦55,019,715,058.10 only.

“The capital expenditure estimate of ₦199,708,930,303.37) only representing 64.1% is the highest ever in the history of the state.

Earlier, Hon. John Bonzena, the speaker Taraba State House of Assembly commended Kefas for his developmental steps in ensuring a new Taraba.

Bonzena disclosed that the developmental agenda of Kefas within the last six months has instilled transformational hope in the minds of Tarabans, and pledged the assembly’s continued support for the executive arm of government to achieve the needed development.
