Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general elections has sent a heartwarming message to Victor Osimhen.
Obi congratulated Osimhen for emerging winner of the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year award.
The Nigerian international, 24, won the award following a fantastic season that saw him helping Napoli to the Serie A title.
The Super Eagles goal machine netted 26 goals in 32 league appearances for Napoli.
He has continued in that form this season, scoring six from 10 games after the 14th gameweek despite a tougher start to the 2023-24 campaign.
The likes of Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Prilo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic won the award in the past.
