A 24-year-old man, Abba Adam, has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by an Area Court in Jos on Tuesday, over the theft of a motorcycle worth N350,000.
The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court for leniency.
The judge also gave the convict an option of a N30,000 fine.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Insp Labaran Ahmed, told the court that the case was reported at the Laranto police station on Nov. 22, by Mr Shuaibu Nuhu.
He said the accused person trespassed into his compound and stole his motorcycle valued at N350,000 from where it was parked.
The prosecutor further told the court that during the police investigation, the accused person confessed to having committed the offence, and the motorcycle was found in his possession.
The offence, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
