He said that the boys gave him a bank account to transfer the money and then helped him remove the bad tyre and fix the spare.
A Nigerian man has taken to 'X' to narrate how he had to pay the sum of N60,000 to area boys after the tyre he purchased 4 days ago got busted on the Third Mainland bridge in Lagos.
@ugodre said he saw the N60,000 as a great deal given that he had to choose between a dirty slap, being thrown into the water below or having them seize his iPhone.
He said that the boys gave him a bank account to transfer the money and then helped him remove the bad tyre and fix the spare.
He tweeted;
"I’ve been hearing tails of fake new tyres until it happened to me this evening on 3 MB. Tyre is just 4 days old and cost N60k I also paid area boys N60k in “road taxes” to leave safely.
“You know what’s funny. The guys actually gave me a UBA account to make the transfer. Areas boys also have bank accounts. Oh I should also add that the area boys also helped remove the bad tyres and fixed the spare.
“And for those wondering why I gave them the N60k. Well, sometimes you have to choose wisely by cutting your losses quickly and early. When you have to choose between a dirty slap, being thrown into the water below or having them seize your iPhone. You immediately see N60k as a great deal.”
