Ibeto, who presented himself and the other two at the state APC secretariat in Minna, based their decision on the purposeful leadership style of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

Former Niger state Deputy Governor and former Nigerian ambassador to South Africa, Ahmed Musa Ibeto has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.

He dumped the party alongside two other top stalwarts of the party and moved to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ibrahim Egbo, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Lapai Agaie federal constituency and Alhaji Abubakar Azozo, former Niger State Commissioner of Water Resources, were the other two political figures who left PDP for APC.

Ibeto, who presented himself and the other two at the state APC secretariat in Minna, based their decision on the purposeful leadership style of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

“APC is my home and I have returned home. There are many other people, including their followers from other political parties, that are on their way to APC,” he disclosed.

When asked if his decision was monetary or political appointment-induced, Ibeto said: “My decision was based on my personal conviction because all the problems that forced me out of APC before are no longer there in the current administration of Mohammed Umar Bago.”

The state chairman of APC, Alh Aminu Musa Bobi, further disclosed that the party has started compiling a database for all political appointees in the state to make them accountable and accessible to their people at the grassroots level.
