At the commencement of plenary on Tuesday, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas stated again that the House won’t allow proxies.
The IGP and Service Chiefs have finally appeared before the House of Representatives.
The security chiefs appeared before the lawmakers, on Tuesday to brief the lawmakers on the security sector.
It would be recalled that the lawmakers were last week left fuming after the military heads and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun sent representatives to appear before them.
The lawmakers did not allow the representatives of the security heads to make presentations during the session and insisted that “no representative by proxie would be allowed.”
At the commencement of plenary on Tuesday, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas stated again that the House won’t allow proxies.
He said that the service chiefs will brief the House and will answer questions from the lawmakers.
The House subsequently allowed the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Naval Staff, Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Air Staff, Hassan Abubakar and the IGP to enter the chamber.
The security heads are taking turns to address the House on their activities.
