Slain Kaduna Pastor’s Abducted Wife Regains Freedom

According to reports, a ransom of N350,000 was paid to secure her release on Sunday night.

Mrs Grace Maraya, the abducted wife of the slain pastor of Second Evangelical Church Winning All, Damakasuwa in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Rev Amako Maraya, has been freed from captivity.

This is coming two days after she was abducted by her husband's killers.

An elder in the church, Mr Ishaku Chinge, confirmed her release to PUNCH Online on Monday.

He said that a ransom of N350,000 was paid to secure her release on Sunday night.

According to him, the kidnappers had earlier demanded N3 million but after negotiation, they accepted N350,000 before she was released.

It was reported that unknown gunmen had at the wee hours of last week Friday stormed the clergy’s house in Damakasuwa, killing Rev Amako Maraya who was the church pastor, and abducting his wife, Grace.

“Mrs Grace was released to us on Sunday night, she is presently taking medication in one of the hospitals,
” Chinge disclosed.
