Court Dismisses LP’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Appeal, Affirms Sanwo-Olu’s Electoral Victory

Delivering judgment in his appeal today November 15, the appellate court dismissed the suit for lacking in merit.

 
Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour’s suit seeking to nullify the victory of Sanwo-Olu at the poll has been dismissed.
 
The Court of Appeal in Lagos on Wednesday dismissed the suit and affirmed the judgment of the tribunal, confirming the return of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat as the Governor and Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
 
In its ruling on September 25, the tribunal dismissed the PDP's governorship candidate, Abdulazeez Adediran and Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour’s suit seeking to nullify the victory of Sanwo-Olu at the poll. 
 
Dissatisfied with the tribunal's judgment, GRV filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal.
 
Delivering judgment in his appeal today November 15, the appellate court dismissed the suit for lacking in merit.
 
In a unanimous decision, the three-man pane led by Justice by Justice Yargata Nimpa affirmed Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat as Governor and Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
 
The other two justices on the panel are Justice Samuel Bola and Justice Paul Bassey.
