The prosecutor, Insp. Olusegun Adegboye, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence between August 4, 2021, and April 17, 2023.
A 34-year-old man identified as Zacchaus Joseph, has been dragged to court.
The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday arraigned the man in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing his employer’s N1,375,500.
Joseph, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with theft.
The prosecutor, Insp. Olusegun Adegboye, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence between August 4, 2021, and April 17, 2023.
Adegboye alleged that the defendant stole the money during his service as Asset Loan Manager with Grooming Center Microfinance Bank Oluyole and Odo-Ona, Ibadan.
He added that the defendant stole the money without the consent of his employer and committed an offence contrary to the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs S. I. Babalola, granted the defendant bail for N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Dec. 19 for hearing.
