UNIBEN VC’s Husband, Professor Salami Is Dead

Prof. Lilian Salami,  the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), has lost her husband to the cold hands of death.

The deceased, Prof. Charles Salami, was a Professor of Management at Delta State University, Asaba campus. He passed away on Sunday, 29 October, 2023.

The cause of his death is yet to be determined. He was known for his extensive experience as a professor, academic coach, and mentor. A source within the University, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, 8 November 2023.

“Yes. He (Salami) is dead. She had all her children with him. He died on Sunday, October 29, 2023,” Vanguard quoted the source to have said.

Also, a family member, Sylvanus Salami, confirmed the incident in a social media post. He wrote: “I’ve kept the tears in for so long that I don’t really remember how to cry anymore. Rest on Prof Charles J.

“The family of the deceased is yet to make an official pronouncement on the death of the late Professor.”
