The suspect was arrested by operatives attached to the rapid response squad (RRS) at Muda Lawal market based on available information about his heinous activities.
A suspected robber, Ahmed Zakari AKA Deedat, who specializes in stealing motorcycles has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, said a metal scrap buyer was also arrested for receiving stolen properties.
The PPRO said the suspected robber was arrested on October 29, by operatives attached to the rapid response squad (RRS) at Muda Lawal market based on available information about his heinous activities.
“During interrogation, the suspect indicted one Usman Saadu aka (Dan Boska) who is now at large as his accomplice,” the statement read.
"The suspect further stated that while on their way to Kandahar together with his accomplice (Usman) they sighted a new motorcycle (Haojoue) parked at the entrance of a house.
"They redirected and went to the motorcycle and compromised the ignition with a sharp metal fabricated by the other suspect purposely for compromising the motorcycle’s ignition.
“The suspect also confessed that they disassembled the stolen motorcycle into parts and painted it another colour.”
In continuing the raid, RRS operatives also arrested one Sanusi Abubakar ‘m’ 20 of Tsamiyar Gardawa area, a metal scrap buyer popularly known as (Dan gwan-gwan).
His arrest followed an intelligence report on his involvement in buying stolen properties.
When interrogated, he confessed to having received stolen properties several times until he ran out of luck and was arrested by the operatives.
The suspect was found in possession of three stolen motorcycles received from his accomplices.
