The victim was killed in his shop around 8pm on Tuesday October 10, when he resisted being taken away by the gunmen.
A businessman, Alhaji Abdul-Samiu Jimoh has been killed by unknown gunmen.
He was killed in Mokwa town, headquarters of Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
A resident, Idris Mohammed told Daily Trust that the victim was killed in his shop around 8pm on Tuesday October 10, when he resisted being taken away by the gunmen.
“The businessman was shot because he didn’t agree to be taken away by the gunmen who insisted he should follow them. It was while dragging with them that they shot him,” he said.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, has confirmed the incident.
“On 10/10/2023 at about 2145hrs, information was received that suspected armed robbers/kidnappers attacked the shop of one Alhaji Samiu Jimoh, a spare parts seller on Bida Road around Bi-water area of Mokwa," he stated.
The PPRO added that before the police could arrive at the scene of the incident, the victim was found to have been shot by the hoodlums and was rushed to the Mokwa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
