The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, Effiom Emmanuel Ekot, issued the warning via a statement issued on Friday.
Residents have been warned by the Police in Jigawa State to always report cases to security agencies and avoid taking laws into their own hands.

The commissioner’s comments came after another incident of mob action at Bodari village in Kazaure LGA was reported.
He said police on Friday, at about 2045hrs, received a distress call that, mob action had ensued at Bodari Kazaure Road in Kazaure LGA.
He said that upon receiving the information, police on patrol attached to the Kazaure Division responded to the scene.
According to him, “On arrival of our men, one Lawal Hisba of Badori village, Kazure LGA complained that two unknown persons allegedly used a stick and attacked his son, Safiyanu Alhassan, of the same address and snatched his motorcycle, as a result, he sustained injuries on his head.”
“As a result, one of the suspects, Adamu Mohammed of Kayar Makama village, Kunchi LGA of Kano State, was attacked by members of the public, and the said motorcycle was recovered from him.”
He said the suspect was rescued by police and taken to General Hospital Kazaure for medical treatment.
CP Effiom said upon investigation, the suspect admitted to the commission of the offense together with Harisu Dandi, who narrowly escaped.
He said the effort to arrest him is intensifying.

The CP, therefore, called on the good people of Jigawa State to avoid taking laws into their own hands, and instead channel their complaints to the nearest Police station or any security outfit for prompt action.
