Kano Election Tribunal: Ganduje’s Son Loses Petition

The tribunal averred that the petitioner failed to present sufficient evidence to support the allegation.

 
Abba Ganduje, the son of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has lost his petition to overturn the election of Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)
 
The court dismissed the petition for lack of merit and ordered him to pay N200,000 each to the respondents, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
 
The court dismissed the petition by Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of NNPP’s Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe in the Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa House of Representatives election conducted on March 25, 2023.
 
The three-judge panel dismissed the petition for lack of merit.
 
The tribunal averred that the petitioner failed to present sufficient evidence to support the allegation.
