Nigeria Police Arrest Officers Accused Of Assaulting Lady In Rivers

The Nigerian Police Force declared that the police officers who allegedly assaulted a woman in Rivers State have been arrested.

 

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has revealed that the police officers who were involved in the alleged assault of a woman in Rivers State have been arrested.

In a video that surfaced online on Friday, September 1, a female voice was heard raining curses on the police officers for allegedly hitting her sister during a stop-and-search in the Ada George area of Rivers State which resulted in a broken lip as seen in the video. 

Sharing an update on Monday, September 4, via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the police said: "We want to inform our esteemed friends that the police officers allegedly involved in the incident from the video have been identified and are now in custody as part of our ongoing investigation. We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough examination of this matter."

"However, to ensure transparency and gather all perspectives, we urgently request the lady seen in the video to please come forward and share her side of the story. Your input is crucial in helping us understand the situation fully. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.
