Governor Alia urged his cabinet to be kind and generous to Benue people and prove themselves in their given assignments.
The Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has sworn in 17 Commissioners and 23 Special Advisers.
While swearing them in, he urged them to uphold the interest of the state, as their appointment is not political.
He stated this on Tuesday during the inauguration ceremony of the Commissioners at the new banquet hall of the government house in Makurdi.
Governor Alia urged his cabinet to be kind and generous to Benue people and prove themselves in their given assignments.
He advised the Commissioners to sustain efforts by the government to improve the living standards of the people and ensure the tempo of economic development he has started in the state.
He said, “you should approach your assignment with courage, determination and resilience”.
The Commissioners sworn-in include Joyce Luga – Cooperatives Omale Omale -Power & Transport, Dr. Yanmar M. Ortese, Health, Rev. Dr. Frederick Ikyaan, Education & Knowledge Economy, Ugwu Odoh- Environment & Water Resources, Kwaghba Amande. Matthew Aboh and Tiza Imojime- Works & Housing amongst others.
In a speech on behalf of the Commissioners and Special Advisers, Rev Frederick Kyan said they will be dedicated to their duty and be effective in their assignments.
