Suspected Vandal Arrested While Removing Metal Drain Ducts On Third Mainland Bridge

The suspect was caught about 4:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 by operatives on patrol of the bridge.

 
A 21-year-old suspected vandal, Ibrahim Ashafa has been arrested by men of the Nigeria police in Lagos for removing metal drain ducts on the Third Mainland Bridge.
 
Ashafa was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 by operatives on patrol of the bridge. 
 
Recovered from him were four metal drain ducts, spanners, plier, rope, screw driver, wheel spanner, and other items. 
 
Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, urged  the operatives to intensify efforts in bringing to book vandals of state’s infrastructures.
 
Egbeyemi directed that the suspect be charged to court.
