Gunmen Attack Army Patrol Van In Edo

It was reported that the incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, at First Junction along Akpakpava Road.


Unknown gunmen attacked an army patrol van in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

A soldier has been feared dead following the attack.

Channels Television reported that the incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, at First Junction along Akpakpava Road.

Eyewitnesses told the news channel that the gunmen ambushed the military vehicle carrying four occupants, heading towards the Ikpoba-Hill axis of the state capital.

Official confirmation of the incident from the relevant authorities is still being awaited.
