Gov Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has sworn in eighteen new commissioners in the state.

Two of the 18 newly sworn commissioners were women.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Council Chambers, Government House, Gusau, on Tuesday evening, where the new appointees were assigned portfolios immediately after the oath-taking.

Governor Lawal, while speaking, tasked the commissioners to put in their best because they would be assessed by the Key Performance Index (KPIs).

The governor noted that the performance index will form the basis for appraising their productivity against the job requirements assigned to them.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, in a statement, confirmed that the commissioners were drawn from various professions and were experts from multiple fields of endeavor.

The oaths of office were administered to the newly appointed commissioners by the Zamfara State Chief Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu.

The statement said, “Governor Dauda Lawal tasked the newly inaugurated commissioners to double their efforts because they would be assessed by the Key performance index (KPIs).”

Lawal also urged the commissioners to establish a good working relationship and synergy with ministries for the growth and progress of Zamfara State.
