Chelsea FC used ‘Finesse’, a hit song by Nigerian singer, Pheelz to unveil its record signing, Moises Caicedo.
This comes after Chelsea completed the signing of the Ecuador international from Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday for a British record £115 million.
The midfielder signed an eight-year deal that will see him stay at Stamford Bridge until 2031, plus the option of an extra year.
In the video unveiling the 21-year-old midfielder, Caicedo could be seen hugging his mum who sat in the boot of a car while ‘Finesse’ was played in the background.
The footage also showed an old photo of him as a young boy wearing a Chelsea shirt and sitting beside his mum in the boot of a car.
Caicedo was also seen having a conversation with his mother in their native language.
He asked if she could remember when they first took the first picture together.
In her reply, Caicedo’s mother said the first time was in 2020 at Cayambe. She also congratulated him for fulfilling the family’s dream.
“It was in Cayambe in 2020. A lot of time has passed since then but finally, it happened. And now our dream has finally come true. everyone’s dream. The family’s dream. Thank God. A huge congratulations, son. I congratulate you,” she said.
