The police spokesman said an investigation into the killing had begun to enable the arrest of the perpetrators of the deadly act.
The ‘Shila boys’, a criminal group in Adamawa State, has killed a 37-year-old man, Umar Abdulkadir, a development that was confirmed by the State Police Command.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s Public Relations Officer, on Saturday, said that the ‘Shila Boys’ are light weapon-bearing youths terrorising some communities in the State and other places.
According to him, “They specialise in snatching mobile phones, jewellery and other valuables.”
The PPRO explained that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when the youths attempted to snatch Abdulkadir’s mobile phones on Ajiya Street in Yola-North Local Government Area.

Sgt Muhammad Abdulkadir, a brother of the deceased, explained that the gang members, numbering about seven, stormed the deceased’s house at 2 am with knives and other dangerous weapons.
He said that the deceased did his best to escape but was not successful, adding that the hoodlums stabbed him in the stomach, exposing his intestines.
According to him, the gang took the deceased’s two phones and ran away, adding that his brother was rushed to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where he died.
