Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has reacted to the outcome of the meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Abuja on Thursday.
Recall that the President of ECOWAS, Omar Alieu Touray, had said the regional bloc had ordered its standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic..
Touray stated that the regional bloc maintained a stand against the military government in Niger and directed immediate enforcement and monitoring of sanctions on the military junta.
He added that ECOWAS underscores its continued commitment to the restoration of constitutional order through peaceful means.
Reacting to the development in a Twitter post on Thursday, Fani-Kayode shared a video that captures the ECOWAS resolutions.
The APC chieftain said that it is sad that Nigeria is on a war footing following the new resolutions made by ECOWAS.
He wrote: “We are now on a war footing. So sad. May God guide us.”
