FCDA Demolishes Popular Market In Abuja (Photos)

Stall owners were frantically trying to save their wares from the revving engine of bulldozers brought to destroy the stalls.

A popular market located in the Lugbe area of Abuja has been demolished by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) on Monday, August 7.

It was gathered that the FCDA officials, accompanied by security operatives stormed the building material market to destroy it.

According to reports, the market, though has been in operation for many years, is illegal and sits under electricity transmission lines.

According to Daily Trust, when newsmen visited the location, stall owners were frantically trying to save their wares from the revving engine of bulldozers brought to destroy the stalls.

It was reported that the marketers had been given notice of the planned demolition exercise over a period of time but ignored it.
