Serena Williams, the American tennis legend, and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, have revealed the gender of their unborn child in a rather exciting way.

In a short documentary on YouTube, Serena and Alexis invited their friends and family members to the baby’s sex unveiling.

In the video, Serena had expected to know the gender of her baby from the cutting of the cake.

But Alexis, the event anchor, said he wanted to make the baby’s gender known in a rather unconventional way.

He added that his intention is to surprise his wife and daughter Olympia and “hopefully Serena appreciates” it.

“This cake is a basis of a gender reveal idea I could come up with. Inside, it is yellow,” he said.

“I am doing this because I want to throw her (Serena) and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of gender. She will cut into this cake and probably be disappointed and hopefully appreciate my throw.

Alexis later asked the disk jockey to play some songs while the guests gathered outside.

In the footage, drones lit up the sky and spelled out “Girl!” to the thrilled viewers.

Williams and Ohanian tied the knot in November 2017 — a few weeks after welcoming Olympia, their first child.

In May, she announced her second pregnancy at the 2023 Met Gala.
