Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Nakwada, said they would rather wage war against criminal elements until they were eliminated from the state.

Following the worsening insecurity in Zamfara, the state government has reiterated that it would not dialogue or negotiate with terrorists or any other criminal group.

Recall that former Governor Bello Matawalle’s government had initiated a peace dialogue with the bandits which was later stopped in September 2021 due to persistent bandit attacks on rural communities in the state.

Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Nakwada, who addressed newsmen in Gusau, the state's capital on Tuesday, June 27, said they would rather wage war against criminal elements until they were eliminated from the state.

Nakwada who expressed the current administration’s commitment to ensuring accurate record-keeping, transparency and accountability in governance, warned that any public official who falls short of these ideals in the discharge of his or her duty would face the consequences.
