The woman said she sold her wrapper, added to the little money made she made from her petty trading, and used it to be sending food and other items to her son all the while he was in prison.
A clergyman, Rev Ifunanya Maduka has narrated the plight of a widow in Ajakpani village, Umunya Anambra State.
According to the man of God, the widow cried out for help after her first son, whom she worked so hard to bring out of prison after 5years, teamed up the same man (his uncle), who put him in prison, to fight his own mother and siblings.
The woman who gave the name of her son as Emeka, said she moved heaven to earth, sold her wrapper, added to the little money made she made from her petty trading, and used it to be sending food and other items to her son all the while he was in prison.
She recounted how she didn’t miss Wednesday prayer session in her local church, all because she was praying to God for help so that her son who was put in prison at Onitsha, by the boy’s uncle, (the brother of the widow’s husband), will be set free.
Narrating the story a little further, Rev Ifunanya Maduka, a clergy who runs a prayer ministry in the area, added that when he noticed the woman, he made efforts to locate her and heard her story, after which he had pity on her and decided to take up the case upon himself, to see that the boy is set free from prison.
Rev Ifunanya Maduka revealed that he drew money from his personal purse to enlist the services of a lawyer through one of the prominent individuals in the area who he gave his name as Hon. Iloraa Michael, who also brought his own contribution, and some donations from partners, and they began to go for the release of the young man from Onitsha prison, which by the grace of God they achieved, and the young man was released.
Rev Ifunanya Maduka recalled how the young man came to church not along after he was released from prison, to dance and give testimony and share his story, after which they took some pictures and they all went home. However, Rev Maduka expressed shocked after getting the news that young Emeka, has now connived with his uncle, the same man who put him in prison, to fight his own mother and his siblings.
Rev Ifunanya Maduka who is now advocating for the aged widow called on the indigenes of Ajakpani village Umunya Anambra State, to judge the matter and stop the young man from taking his own mother to court.
