An attempt by two women to sell a two-month-old baby was thwarted by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Friday, May 26, 2023.
A woman, Oge Okolie (25), the intermediary between the mother of the baby and the prospective buyer were suspected of stealing the baby by their co-passengers on a public bus who raised alarm.
It was learnt that after the passengers noticed the ceaseless crying from the baby, they questioned Oge why she refused to breastfeed the baby and when she could not account for the baby, the passengers were about to lynch her when RRS operatives stepped in and rescued her.
