At least seven passengers kidnapped in Edo state have been rescued.
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command rescued the victims in the Owan East Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that passengers of a Toyota Sienna bus were kidnapped by gunmen along the Afuze-Iheivbe Auchi Road last week Tuesday.
Two of the passengers were, however, rescued last week while the police in collaboration with the local vigilante after four days of bush combing, rescued another seven on Saturday, bringing the total to nine.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the development on Monday, May 8, said the victims were rescued on Saturday by a combined security team.
"Seven victims, four males and three females, were rescued by the police on Saturday during bush combing by the security team. All the kidnapped victims have been rescued,” he said.
