Asali MB Biro, the council Caretaker chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Taraba State, has been suspended by the executive committee in the Namnai Ward of Gassol local government council over alleged anti-party activities.
News of his suspension was contained in a letter signed by the party’s ward Secretary, Ismaila Usman.
He accused the council boss of alleged anti-party activities.
Copies of the suspension letter, which was on Wednesday made available to media men in Jalingo, the State capital, directed the embattled chairman to, as a matter of urgency, hand over the party’s property under his care to the Namnai ward party chairman.
His suspension, according to the letter “is as a result of your anti-party activities during the just concluded general elections.”
The party alleged that the chairman in question was seen “openly campaigning against our great party in all the categories of the elections.”
Also alleging that the Caretaker chairman physically attacked one of the party’s agents, his act, according to them, “caused our party to lose in your polling unit.”
Citing some sections of the party’s constitution, among which include Section 58 (1)(f) and 59(1)(d), his actions, the party said “contravened the aforementioned sections of the party’s constitution, hence “your suspension from our great party.”
