Kidnapped NPC Federal Commissioner In Bayelsa Regains Freedom

Gunmen had kidnapped the NPC Commissioner along Ogbakiri axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State last Sunday.

 

Gloria Izonfuo, the National Population Commission in Bayelsa State, has regained freedom from her abductors, Daily Post reports.

Izonfuo was released after spending 5 days in captivity.

Gunmen had kidnapped the NPC Commissioner along Ogbakiri axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State last Sunday.

Izonfuo, who was a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State, was kidnapped alongside her driver and maid while returning from a trip to Brass, Bayelsa state.

Her release was confirmed on Friday by the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko.

It is, however, uncertain if any ransom was paid to secure her freedom.
