Panic As Terrorists Kill Community Leader, Abduct Kaduna Villagers

A resident of the area, Mallam Uban Marayu, who confirmed the attack to newsmen on Monday, said the incident took place around 10pm on Sunday night when the hoodlums invaded the community.

 

The PUNCH reports that some terrorists have launched an attacked on a community in Kaduna.

The terrorist attacked Unguwan Liman community in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a community leader of the area and abducting scores of villagers.

It was gathered that the terrorists also threatened to attack the community again.

A resident of the area, Mallam Uban Marayu, who confirmed the attack to newsmen on Monday, said the incident took place around 10pm on Sunday night when the hoodlums invaded the community.

According to him, several residents of the community were kidnapped by the terrorists who came in their huge numbers.

“They came yesterday (Sunday),  around 10pm. They struck at the periphery of  Birnin-Gwari, where they killed Maiunguwa at Unguwan Liman, three kilometres from Birnin-Gwari town.

“An unspecified number of people were kidnapped, male and  female.  At the  nearby Kwanan Shehu community, they looted shops. May the mercy and protection of Allah continue to be with us,” he said.

Efforts to get the police to react were unsuccessful as phone calls to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muhammad Jalige, did not connect. There was also no response to a text message sent to his telephone by our correspodent.
