Further information before noon on Monday indicated that the attackers killed three residents and burnt many valuable assets.

CP Afolabi Babatola, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, has confirmed an attack by terrorists in the state.

He confirmed a reported attack on Dabna, a community in Hong Local Government Area.

A sketchy piece of information had got out Monday morning that unknown gunmen had, the previous night, invaded Dabna, shooting and setting vehicles and some other items on fire.

Further information before noon on Monday indicated that the attackers killed three residents and burnt many valuable assets.

The CP, in a reaction shortly afterwards, condemned the attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants whom he assured would be fished out.

A statement by the image maker of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the Commissioner of Police had given men of the command marching orders to trail and arrest the masterminds of the attack.

“The CP has ordered the immediate arrest and investigation into the matter with a view to ensuring peace and justice.

“The CP warns that attacks on innocent souls would no longer be tolerated under whatsoever guise, as the command holds the lives of citizens sacrosanct, and such unwarranted attitude would be strictly treated in accordance with extant laws,” the statement said.
