Meanwhile, High Chief Femi Fajembimo, the Lisa of Ayede-Ogbese, bemoaned the excessive security breaches brought about by some suspected herders in the town who he said were primarily from Chad and the Niger Republic.

“We have been under attack for over three years. Fulani groups, apparently from Chad and Niger, have set up structures in the territory to take over vast areas of farmland by force.

“These armed Fulani terrorists (pretending to be cattle herders) are armed with Ak-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons with which they constantly attack anyone that ventures into the territory they have forcefully taken over.”

The gunmen, who were heavily armed, stormed a filling station situated within the Ayede-Ogbese axis in Akure North Local Council of the state, where they kidnapped the owner of the station and two of his workers.

According to sources, the businessman escaped while the kidnappers whisked the other two victims into the forest.
