Governorship Election: Old naira Notes Being Used For Vote Buying In Kaduna – Shehu Sani

In a tweet on Saturday night, the former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State said people were being paid N1000 to N2000 to vote for candidates.

Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani has alleged that some politicians used the old naira notes to buy votes in the state during the governorship election.

In a tweet on Saturday night, the former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, said people were being paid N1000 to N2000 to vote for candidates.

He wrote, “The old Naira notes that were made a legal tender by the Supreme Court became the tool for vote buying in Kaduna State.

“People, mostly poor women within the metropolis and beyond were paid from 1k to 2k for their votes”.



 

The Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai was one of the governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC who dragged the federal government to supreme court, demanding the return of the old notes.
