Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, reiterated the ban on the items in the latest edition of the board’s weekly bulletin released on Monday.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has sent a message to Nigerians.

The board says its ban on mobile phones, calculators, pens/biros, and earpieces in exam halls is still intact.

Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, reiterated the ban on the items in the latest edition of the board’s weekly bulletin released on Monday.

Oloyede said other items prohibited during the exam include smart buttons, wallets/purses, necklaces, rings, bangles, keyholders, Bluetooth devices, cameras, microphones, recorders, contact lenses, books, spyglasses, smartwatches, and flash drives.

The registrar said the warning became imperative ahead of this year’s UTME billed to commence from April 29 to May 12.

He also said the board would sanction any candidate caught violating the directive.

Oloyede also disclosed that no candidate would be allowed to sit for the examination one hour into the stipulated start time.

The registrar added that the board has put in place features aimed at further simplifying its examination delivery with the use of nine keys in addition to instructions to candidates.

He enjoined candidates to ensure that they carefully read and follow all the instructions as stated on the screen before, during, and after the examination.

Oloyede also charged the candidates to refrain from doing anything contrary to the rules guiding the conduct of the examination.
