Recall that news of Ekpa’s arrest by Finnish police went viral on the internet yesterday.
Presidential Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad said the arrest of Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed disciple of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Finland is a welcome development.
Recall that Ekpa was arrested and grilled for hours on Thursday by Finnish police over allegations of inciting violence in Nigeria.
While reacting to a post confirming Ekpa’s arrest, Bashir wrote: “Very good!”
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba also reacted to the arrest.
Garba suggested that Ekpa, who he described as a terrorist, be repatriated to Nigeria like his principal, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and made to face the wrath of the law in the country.
“The next thing to do after terrorist Simon Ekpa’s arrest is to repatriate him to Nigeria so that he can face our local laws,” Garba wrote on the microblogging platform.
