Following CBN's cash policy, a former lawmaker has exposed the new tactics politicians are now using to buy votes.
Shehu Sani, a former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District has exposed new tactics politicians are now using to buy votes ahead of Saturday's presidential election.
Recall that politicians are finding it difficult to buy votes because of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently implemented currency policy, but some of the politicians have found a new way.
Senator Sani in a post on his verified Twitter page, on Tuesday, revealed that vote buyers have switched from giving electorates cash to collecting their account numbers in order to transfer funds directly because they cannot access the large sums of cash required.
“Vote buyers have resorted to collecting the account numbers of the electorates. There is also sharing palliatives in return for votes,” the former lawmaker tweeted.
