Buhari ordered that the old N200 notes be re-introduced into circulation and recognised as legal tender until April 10.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has said old N200 notes have been made available.
He made the revelation after meeting 15 heads of commercial banks in the country today.
According to him, he discussed with them how to ease the ongoing cash crunch in the country, following President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive in his national broadcast to the nation on Thursday morning.
Buhari ordered that the old N200 notes be re-introduced into circulation and recognised as legal tender until April 10.
Emefiele spoke to State House correspondents shortly after attending a meeting between Buhari and the House of Representatives adhoc committee at the presidential villa where the new naira redesign and naira swap policy was top on the agenda.
Emefiele assured Nigerians that the old N200 notes will be made available immediately.
