According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, the rescue of the victim was part of the command’s ongoing effort to stem the tide of kidnapping and other related crimes in the state.
A 20-year-old kidnap victim, Abdulrahman Abubakar from Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State has been rescued by the Zamfara State Police Command along Tsafe-Kucheri-Yankara road.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, the rescue of the victim was part of the command’s ongoing effort to stem the tide of kidnapping and other related crimes in the state.
According to the statement: “While debriefing the victim, he informed the Police that he was abducted on Monday, 7th February 2023, in Gwandu, by unidentified persons on motorcycles and was taken into the forest and spent three days in captivity.
“The victim was rushed to the Police clinic for a medical check and, thereafter, reunited with his family and relations.”
Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf congratulated the rescued victim for regaining his freedom and assured the public of Police’s continuous commitment to rescue other victims in captivity.
