NDLEA Seizes Three-Bedroom Bungalow, 250kg Hard Drugs, Arrests 55 Offenders In Adamawa

The raid operation which started at the Ngurore drugs market saw operatives confiscating a three-bedroom bungalow used to store assorted narcotics.

 

Open markets for drugs in Adamawa have been dislodged by security operations.

A joint security agencies' operation led by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dislodged the open markets for illicit drugs across Adamawa State.

The raid operation which started at the Ngurore drugs market saw operatives confiscating a three-bedroom bungalow used to store assorted narcotics.

Also in the operation, 55 persons were apprehended in connection with various illicit drugs offenses; just as a total of 258.469 kilograms of banned substances were seized.

Some of the alleged drug barons arrested were; Gollaya Buba, Abdulrazak Saidu, Abbas Baba, Isaac Jacob, Sadiq Iya and Aliyu Umar. They were arrested in Mubi, Gombi, Michika, Ganye and Kojoli, the birth place of Nigeria's former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

Besides seizure of drugs and confiscation of a bungalow used to store drugs, operatives destroyed several residential places used for the illicit business.

A detailed report signed by the Adamawa State Commander of NDLEA, Agboalu Femi Samson, stated that the cleanup raid was sequel to a security council meeting chaired by the state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Samson said, "A combined team of personnel from the Nigerian Air force, the Nigerian police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, the vigilante and NDLEA was constituted. A team of 53 combatant officers and men combed all the black spots in the three senatorial zones.

"A total of 55 suspects were arrested amidst users who are victims of drug abuse.”

"A total of 226 kilograms of cannabis sativa was an abandoned seizure belonging to one Sani Libalis (currently at large), was recovered from a 3-bedroom bungalow which stands forfeited to the federal government," he added.
