Osun Govt Rescues 5-year-old Girl Abandoned Beside River

The Coordinating Director, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, said that efforts by police and officials of the Ministry to locate the girl’s parents yielded no result.

A 5-year-old girl abandoned by Oba River in Iwo has been rescued by the Osun State Government.

The Coordinating Director, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Jide Falade, in a statement on Monday, November 14, 2022, disclosed that the abandonment was reported to the ministry by a good samaritan.

He said that efforts by police and officials of the Ministry to locate the girl’s parents yielded no result.

"The case was reported to the Ministry by a good samaritan on the 29th of September, 2022. All efforts to locate the relatives of the minor had proved fruitless."
he added.

Falade therefore appealed to  members of the public to assist in locating the parents of the abandoned child or any of the relatives.
