Two Suspected Thieves Nabbed With Stolen Tubers Of Yam And ATM Card In Bayelsa Community

The suspects were caught with stolen tubers of yam, ATM card and other items in the early hours of Thursday, November 10, 2022.

 Two suspected yam thieves have been nabbed in Okutukutu community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The suspects were caught with stolen tubers of yam, ATM card and other items in the early hours of Thursday, November 10, 2022.

According to Okutukutu Youth Movement (OYM) president, Kester Wilcox, one of the suspects confessed to have stolen the yam in another community and was taking them to the market to sell.

"Okutukutu community is known for been very vigilant when it comes to security, although we are not 100% perfect but we are trying our best to make sure residence are very safe and also leave without fear," he said.

Today by 3:a.m we apprehended a Window shopper with matchet, scissors, torchlight, ATM card.

"During the process of removing the devil spirit from the thief (window shopper) we caught another one with truck of Yams, after so much interrogation he confessed that he stole the yam at Opolo,and he was taking it to the market to sell to cut the long story short, I delegated some persons to go and verify and we thank God we were able to locate the owner and we handed over the yam and truck to the owner. Okutukutu community is no go area, please criminals stay off, a tradition that cannot be broken."
