The union, under the aegis of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), said the delay in the payment had brought untold hardship to its members.

The senior members of staff in the Nigerian universities have reached out to the Federal Government, The Nation reports.

The university workers yesterday called on the Federal Government to pay them their four-month salaries withheld.

The union, under the aegis of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), said the delay in the payment had brought untold hardship to its members.

The association, at its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, expressed concerns over the deplorable condition of state universities across the country.

SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim, who read the communiqué, urged stakeholders in the country to prevail on Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki to release salaries of his members at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.

“NEC similarly urges the Federal Government to expedite the process of upholding its part of the terms of the agreement on which the strike action was suspended.”
