Abducted Lecturer, Shammah Yakubu Regains Freedom In Nasarawa

The lecturer was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday at about 8 p.m. on his way home from work. He is the institution’s director of Consultancy Unit.

Mr Shammah Yakubu, an abducted lecturer, with Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Nasarawa State, is now free.

He has finally regained his freedom, the Nasarawa police Command said on Friday.

The lecturer was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday at about 8 p.m. on his way home from work. He is the institution’s director of Consultancy Unit.

Rahman Nansel, the State police spokesperson, who confirmed the report, explained that Yakubu was released around 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The lecturer was released from captivity with no ransom paid.

He further explained, “Yes he was released on Thursday around 6 p.m. I know no ransom was paid.”

A source also stated that the lecturer was taken to the hospital immediately after his release. He is currently receiving treatment.
