Joke Silva Celebrates Appointment As APC Women Leader

Celebrating her appointment in an Instagram post on Friday, Joke posted a throwback video of herself on her way to the women’s presidential campaign team inauguration.

The All Progressive Council (APC) has appointed actress, Joke Silva as the chairman of the creative and entertainment industries committee for its women’s presidential campaign.

A spokesperson for the campaign, Rinsola Abiola, who is also the daughter of late Moshood Abiola, released the list on Independence Day.

The campaign list contains names of 944 high-profile women and wives of prominent APC politicians.

Celebrating her appointment in an Instagram post on Friday, Joke posted a throwback video of herself on her way to the women’s presidential campaign team inauguration.

She wrote: “Flashback to Monday…. on my way to the TINUBU/SHETTIMA Women Presidential Campaign Team inauguration.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as Chairman of the Creative and Entertainment Industries Committee. It is a monumental privilege to be in such a position considering the ever-growing prominence and influence of Nigeria’s creative sector. With so much excitement, I am already envisaging the unprecedented feats that we will achieve together as a people in Nigeria’s creative economy. Come with me! Cheers!”


In the 70-page campaign document, no fewer than 33 Nollywood and Kannywood actors were enlisted for entertainment.

They included veteran thespians such as Fausat Balogun, Remi Oshodi, Mercy Johnson, Rose Odika, Sola Kosoko, Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero) Hajiya Nas, Lizzy Jay (Omo Ibadan), Princess Kalihat Bello among others.
